BEA West is a mentoring, advocacy and social group dedicated to progressing equality in architecture in British Columbia and the Yukon.

According to the United Nations System Chief Executives Board (UNSCEB), equity is defined as “the process of being fair to all individuals and groups by addressing present and historical inequalities in order to work towards equality in outcomes.”

At BEA West, we embrace this definition as the foundation of our mission.

We are a committed dialogue group dedicated to creating new opportunities for the design and construction community while advocating for underrepresented voices, environmental responsibility, and a more sustainable approach to the spaces we shape.

From hosting industry events to facilitating open discussions, BEA West provides a platform for professionals to connect, learn, collaborate, and share common values. Our goal is to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change in the way we design and build our cities.

BEA currently includes chapters in Toronto (BEAT), Northern Canada (BEANorth), Atlantic Canada (BEAA),  Calgary (BEAC) and the Prairies (BEAP).
